The place was reasonably priced. the breakfast was tasty and the place was clean. Very nice modern building, we loved neat rooms. It was in a particularly good and ideal location a minute walk from Hlemmur.

All rooms were neat and budget.
Favourable location and overall the staff was fairly friendly and incredibly nice. The restaurant here was good for lunch or dinner, we both ordered hot dishes.

The rooms were lovely, and the hotel staff amazing. We stayed 3 nights and had 2 days that they helped us plan exactly where to go. They filled us in on some of the history and why we should see these places and were amazing.

A good new hotel opposite the rather grubby-looking Guesthouse Pavi (which still seems to be operating out of a disused office four years after I stayed there). Hotel Klettur itself is not cheap at around GBP70 per person per night for a double room but I suspect it is better to pay this rather than take indifferent accommodation available elsewhere in the city. This area doesn't seem to have changed much since 2007 - it looked like a disused building site then! Well, maybe eventual economic recovery will spruce up the environs. In the meantime, Klettur is just fine - friendly and helpful staff, good facilities, comfy rooms, good breakfast, remarkably quiet. It's about a 15 min walk into the city centre but to be honest everything a tourist would want to see is reasonably close - and there's a supermarket just around the corner on Laugavegur. All in all, worth it if you can afford it.
